Outlast is a first-person survival horror video game developed and published by Red Barrels. The game revolves around a freelance investigative journalist, Miles Upshur, who decides to investigate a remote psychiatric hospital named Mount Massive Asylum, located deep in the mountains of Lake County, Colorado.

Storyline
Outlast tells the story of a reporter who gets a tip from an anonymous informant that something fishy is going on at a mountain asylum. The reporter goes there to investigate, but when he arrives he realizes that all hell has broken loose already.
Difficulty
Difficulties. Outlast originally had a standard difficulty. After a few updates, the game features four standard difficulties; Normal, Hard, Nightmare and Insane.

Miles Upshur is the main protagonist of the 2013 horror game Outlast, and is an investigative journalist who was contacted by The Whistleblower to expose the inhumane experiments at Mount Massive Asylum. He was voiced by Shawn Baichoo.
